DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Field service technician to join our team in Thunder Bay.
We are on a hunt for a diesel technician willing and able to work in various locations from Winnipeg to Thunder bay in a field service technician role. This is a customer facing position and is a resident position.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.
Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Identifies additional service opportunities with customer.
Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Red seal certification HET or Truck and transport is mandatory for this position (310T or 421A)
Locally valid driving permit and a clean driver's abstract
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
Basic electrical knowledge is an asset
NORCAT certification is an asset.
Cummins engine diagnostics and repairs would be an asset
About the role:
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 430pm with some overtime hours including weekends to support customer needs.
After-hours rotational on-call will also be mandatory throughout the team.

QUALIFICATIONS
A current valid license is required for this role
A copy of your red seal certification or trade’s diploma is required for this position.
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This role will can be subjected to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
