Cummins Inc. Power Generation Field Service Technician in Kenner, Louisiana
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Field Service Power Generation technician to join our team in the great area of Kenner, Louisiana.
In this role, you will be part of our mobile team, and you will get to work on Cummins's latest technologies.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner.
Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician is an asset
Current relevant electrical certification is an asset
Locally valid driving permit is mandatory for this position.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Basic level field service work experience.
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience.
Customer service experience.
About the role:
Working hours are Monday-Friday 730am-5pm
The position will support the PG department and receive Cummins Training.
The position will involve some traveling and some occasional in-shop work.
This position requires work including (commissioning, preventative maintenance, diagnosis and repair) on generators ranging from portable RV units all the way up to large emergency units.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. This is onsite roll. Employee will eithe neeed to be at shop or fiedl support for customers or additonal techs.
DOT
A current valid license is required for this role
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
3 years driving experience
This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
